ASUS has launched the ROG Strix Scar 16 (2025) Gaming Laptop (Model G635LX-DS96), powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 275HX and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, in the US online. The Intel Core Ultra 9 Processor 275HX this system is powered with has 24 cores and 24 threads, with a 36MB cache and a maximum turbo frequency of up to 5.4 GHz, offering top of the line CPU performance. It also includes a basic Intel AI Boost NPU rated at up to 13 TOPS.
For graphics, the ROG Strix Scar 16 G635LX-DS96 is equipped with an Nvidia RTX 5090 Laptop graphics that supports a maximum graphics TGP of 175W with ROG Boost (1597MHz Boost Clock + 50MHz OC, 150W + 25W Dynamic Boost), for a rated 1647MHz clock. Asus G635LX-DS96 features a 16-inch ROG Nebula HDR panel with a 2.5K (2560 x 1600, WQXGA) resolution screen that gives a 16:10 aspect ratio. It is an IPS-level panel, with an anti-glare coating. The max refresh rate supported is 240Hz refresh rate and the max response time, 3ms. It covers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and is Pantone Validated.

According to ASUS, the cooling system uses an end-to-end vapor chamber, tri-fan technology, and Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal applied to the chipset. ASUS also describes a tool-free access design, where RAM, SSD and fans can be reached by sliding a latch on the bottom half of the chassis, with a removable frame covering the remaining hardware.
The laptop weighs 2.80 kg (6.17 lbs) and ships with Windows 11 Home. It also features ASUS lighting technologies including Aura Sync logo, Aura Sync Light Bar, and AniMe Vision, which can display text and animations on the lid. A Stealth Mode turns off all lighting around the base. Security features include a Firmware TPM and BIOS administrator and user password protection.
