Each capacity is listed twice at the same price, in two finishes. The W suffix marks the White models, CML32GX5M2D6000Z38W and CML16GX5M2E6000Z36W. The plain part numbers, CML32GX5M2D6000Z38 and CML16GX5M2E6000Z36, are the Grey/Black models. Colour is the only difference between the two versions of each capacity.
Let’s check out the specs and features of the CORSAIR Vengeance RS DDR5 series.
Specs and Features
All four kits are two-module dual-channel sets in the desktop DIMM form factor. The 32GB kits are made up of 2 x 16GB modules, the 16GB kits of 2 x 8GB modules.
Every model in the lineup is rated at up to 6000MHz. CORSAIR states plainly that the maximum speed requires overclocking through BIOS adjustments, and that the speed and performance actually reached depend on the rest of the system including the motherboard and the CPU. The 6000MHz figure is the profile speed, not the speed the modules run at on first boot.
Operating voltage is 1.35V across the range, and timings differ by capacity. The 32GB kits run at 38-48-48-96, the 16GB kits at 36-44-44-96. That tracks the part numbers, which carry a Z38 designation on the 32GB kits and Z36 on the 16GB kits.
Two memory profiles ship on every module, AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0, and CORSAIR lists the memory as compatible with those two standards only.
Platform Compatibility
CORSAIR names the following chipset families for the series:
- AMD 600 Series
- AMD 800 Series
- Intel 700 Series
- Intel 800 Series
Onboard Voltage Regulation
Power regulation sits on the memory module rather than on the motherboard. According to CORSAIR, this supplies reliable voltage at high frequencies and allows finer, more stable overclocking through CORSAIR iCUE than the previous generation’s motherboard-level control.
Inside iCUE, the memory exposes real-time frequency monitoring, the onboard voltage regulation, and customisation of the AMD EXPO and Intel XMP 3.0 profiles.
Aluminium Heatspreader
The modules are fitted with an aluminium heatspreader, in White on the W models and Grey/Black on the others. CORSAIR describes the spreader as conducting heat away from the memory, in what the company calls refined Vengeance styling to suit modern systems.
CORSAIR also states the memory uses a custom PCB for signal quality on current AMD and Intel DDR5 motherboards, and that the chips are hand-sorted and tightly screened for consistent operation at high frequency with aggressive timings.
Module Size
Every module in the series measures 13.8cm x 0.7cm x 4.4cm. The 44mm height is the figure to check against cooler clearance before buying, since a large air cooler can overhang the first DIMM slot.
