Specs and Features

The Ace Ultra is built around a Sonos-designed 40mm driver. Sonos states it delivers high-resolution wireless audio with ultra-low latency, and that Adaptive EQ tunes the sound based on your fit and movement.

Noise cancellation is handled by Adaptive ANC powered by ten microphones. According to Sonos, this is up to 2x more Active Noise Cancellation than the original Sonos Ace, which is the model this one sits above rather than replaces.

Battery life is rated at up to 35 hours with ANC on ( this is Sonos’ claims under ideal testing conditions, the real world usage can vary vastly ).

For calls, it uses beamforming microphones to isolate your voice. The earcups use plush foam with an adjustable design.

This is the first headphone built on Headphone Engine 2, the hardware that connects it directly into the Sonos system. Sonos Link moves sound between the headphones and your Sonos system: one press pushes whatever is playing on the system to the headphones, another press pulls it back, without needing a phone in range. Read that feature with its caveat attached, because Sonos states headphone linking is available in Early Access, not as a finished feature.

TV Audio Swap hands the audio from a compatible Sonos soundbar to the headphones for personal listening, and TrueCinema tunes the Ace Ultra when it is pulling sound from a compatible soundbar.

When it comes to connectivity, the Ace Ultra adds USB-C and 3.5mm wired inputs on top of its wireless connection.

The three SKUs are identical apart from the finish. White (ACEULUS1), Black (ACEULUS1BLK) and Agave (ACEULUS1AGAV) all carry the same $449.99 price and the same September 29 release date.

Sonos announced the Beam Ultra soundbar at the same time, a nine-driver mid-size model with two up-firing drivers for 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos, priced at $699 and on the same pre-order and availability schedule.

HP has listed the OmniBook 3 Laptop Next Gen AI 14-hz0188nr (Part Number: DQ2E8UA#ABA, UPC 826581390633), powered by the Snapdragon X X1-26-100 processor, in the US online. The price starts at $599.99 ( current selling price at the time of writing; the US MSRP is $729.99). If you are buying via Amazon US, it will ship to customers starting September 2, 2026.

This is the Nouvelle Silver version of a model we have already covered. We wrote about the HP OmniBook 3 14-hz0488nr (DT4E9UA#ABA) in Starlit Blue last month, and the two SKUs specs are identical on paper apart from the colour, the part number and the UPC. Same processor, same 8GB of memory, same 256GB drive, same 2K OLED panel, same ports, same 60Wh battery, same 1.42 kg weight. The one difference worth knowing is on pricing: the hz0488nr carries a US list price of $749.99, while the hz0188nr has an MSRP of $729.99. Both are available to buy at $599.99 at the time of writing.

Let’s check out the specs and features of the 14-hz0188nr model.

It is powered by the Snapdragon X X1-26-100 processor, an 8-core chip clocked at up to 2.97 GHz, paired with a Qualcomm Hexagon™ NPU rated at 45 NPU TOPS. It is branded as a Microsoft Windows Copilot+ PC. Graphics is handled by integrated Qualcomm Adreno™ GPU, which is suitable for everyday tasks and video playback. There is no discrete Nvidia Laptop Graphics Card available on this model.

It comes with 8 GB of LPDDR5x-8448 MT/s memory, onboard – soldered, no empty slots which means you can’t add more memory. For storage, it has 256 GB PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD, and you are also elligible to get 100 GB of Dropbox storage for 3 months from the date of registration.

The display is a 14-inch diagonal 2K OLED panel with a native resolution of 1920 x 1200 in a 16:10 aspect ratio. It supports 0.2 ms response time, and offer Ultra Wide Viewing Angles, has a micro-edge BrightView finish and Low Blue Light technology. The maximum brightness supported by this screen is 300 nits, which is plenty bright for indoor use, and it covers 100% DCI-P3 color gamut offering good color reproduction. Screen-to-body ratio is 88%.

HP markets the panel as 2K OLED, and the resolution it publishes for it is 1920 x 1200.

There is no touchscreen functionality listed for this model.

Brother has listed the DSmobile DS-640e Compact Portable Document Scanner ( UPC 012502684466 ) in the US online. The DS-640e is a portable single sheet fed scanner that takes its power from the same USB-C cable carrying the data, so there is no mains adapter to pack alongside it.

Specs and Features

The DS-640e uses a Single CIS (Contact Image Sensor) with an LED Array light source, and scans one side of a page at a time.

Brother rates it at up to 15ppm for A4 colour and mono, measured 1-sided at 300dpi. The Amazon listing quotes up to 16ppm – we would go with the 15ppm figure which is the one on Brother’s own datasheet.

Optical scan resolution is up to 600 x 600dpi, with an interpolated mode of up to 1,200 x 1,200dpi. Colour depth is 48-bit on input and 24-bit on output, with 256 levels (8 bit) of greyscale.

Duty cycle is rated at up to 100 sheets daily and up to 2,000 sheets monthly. Brother notes that the monthly figure is there to compare design durability between its own products rather than as a target to scan to.

When it comes to paper handling, it accepts widths from 50.8mm to 215.9mm and lengths from 86.4mm up to 1828.8mm (72 inches). Paper weight supported is 35gsm to 270gsm for single sheets, and paper thickness 0.04mm to 0.28mm.

It takes photos, paper, business cards, receipts and plastic cards, including embossed ones. Plastic cards go in landscape with the embossed face up, at a maximum of 86mm wide by 54mm long, and business cards at 89.3mm by 51.2mm. Card thickness is supported to 1.00mm for a plain plastic card and 1.24mm for an embossed one.

There is no display on this scanner. The control panel is LED and key only.

Read the footnotes before counting on all of that, because Brother marks a large share of these functions Windows only, including Punch Hole Removal, Character Enhancement, B&W Inversion, Colour Drop, Edge Emphasis, Edge Fill, Margin Setting, Background Processing, Auto Image Rotation, B&W Level Adjustment, Barcode Detection, 2 in 1 Scan and 1 to 2 Scan. Brother also states these functions are “all supported using downloadable software from the Brother Solutions Centre”, so they come from the software rather than the scanner itself.

Carrier Sheet Mode supports scanning documents up to A3 folded. The carrier sheet is an optional purchase, Part Number CS-A3401, sold in a pack of 2 and rated for 500 uses each.

Connectivity and Power

The local interface is a single USB 3.2 Gen 1 / Type-C port, and the scanner runs on USB bus-power.

Power draw is 2.6W scanning over USB 3.0 and 2.2W over USB 2.0, dropping to 1.4W in ready state and 0.01W when powered off. A Power Off Mode cuts consumption further when the scanner is not in use. Sound pressure is 53dB while scanning, and inaudible in ready state.

Lenovo has launched the L16 Mobile ( Portable ) Monitor (Model 68F4UAC1US) in the US online. Lenovo announced this model on May 14, 2026, and Amazon US has now listed it as coming soon / pre-order.

The Lenovo L16 68F4UAC1US is a portable display / monitor built and uses USB Type C port to draw both power and video signal.

Specs and Features

The L16 features a 16-inch WUXGA display with a native resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, an active viewing area of 344.7×215.4 mm and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Pixel density is 142 dpi.

Thanks to this being an In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel with a WLED backlight, it offers good viewing angles, 178°/178°. The panel supports 16.7 million colours and a 1500:1 contrast ratio.

The maximum brightness supported by this screen is 300 cd/m² (300nits), which is plenty bright for indoor use. The screen carries an anti-glare surface treatment which can help cut out glares when using near windows.

MSI has listed the 2026 PRO MAX 341QPXW14G 34″ QD-OLED Monitor on Amazon US. The monitor was announced at COMPUTEX 2026 as part of MSI’s PRO MAX series, a professional line covering desktops, all-in-one PCs and monitors.

The PRO MAX 341QPXW14G features a 34-inch QD-OLED display with a native pixel resolution of 3440 x 1440 (UWQHD) and a 144Hz refresh rate. It is an ultrawide panel, offering better side by side multi-tasking capabilities to those who don’t want a two monitor setup.

MSI uses its 5th-Gen QD-OLED panel with Penta Tandem technology, which the company describes as a five-layer structure that improves light efficiency by up to 30%. The sub-pixel arrangement is an RGB Stripe layout, which according to MSI minimises colour fringing and improves text clarity.

The panel carries DarkArmor Film which enhances light absorption for 40% deeper blacks and makes the screen surface 2.5x more scratch resistant, moving it from 2H to 3H hardness.

The display is Pantone Validated and rated at Delta E < 2 offering excellent true to life color reproduction.

The Acer Nitro MG275U X2biippx (UM.HM5AA.201) features a 27-inch widescreen IPS display with a native pixel resolution of 2560 x 1440 (WQHD).
